About Chronic Pain

Chronic pain is defined as pain that persists longer than 6 months. There are different guidelines and policies implemented in treatment procedure because of the sensitivity of this case. It is useful to distinguish the two types of pain and how they greatly differ from each other.

• Chronic Pain- Different types of chronic pain are not clearly understood. It may or may not be associated with an acute or chronic pathologic process that causes continuous or intermittent pain.
• Acute Pain- Caused by soft tissue damage, infection or inflammation.
