The mysteries of the brain as the regulatory organ of the human body continues to baffle experts and researchers for a study on chronic pain sufferers has resulted in a very disturbing fact, the brains of these sufferers have been ultimately re-wired. This phenomenon gives credence to a need of more understanding of how the brain functions and deals with the many afflictions we all suffer from especially with such a debilitating affliction as chronic pain. Pain more or less has an underlying reason for it’s existence but some cases are truly baffling, with totally healthy bodies some people simply get it for no apparent reason at all.
Using brain scans, they have found that extreme changes to how th brain is wired does indeed happen as if the brain is trying to avoid regions that are leading to the pain. The brain has a mind of it’s own, doing or more of adapting to the situation to which it is presented with taking action without us knowing about it. The brain continues to mystify the people who are working hard to understand its functions and inner workings, we may know what makes up the brain and how it functions but knowledge regarding why it does things we don’t understand is a true mystery indeed.
